Brussels Jazz OrchestraThe BJO brings jazz with a dynamic orchestral sound, rooted in jazz tradition. The musicians are above all excellent soloists, leaving room for improvisation. Alongside its own productions, the BJO works with a number of (inter)national artists, building a strong reputation both domestically and internationally. The Brussels Jazz Orchestra is recognised and subsidised by the Flemish Community since 1999. The BJO has worked with Philip Catherine, Bert Joris, deFilharmonie, Toots Thielemans, Brass Band Willebroek, Tutu Puoane, Brussels Philharmonic, David Linx, Vlaams Radio Koor, Veerle Dobbelaere, Michael Herr, Michael De Cock, 't Arsenaal and Richard Galliano on their own productions .. Frank Vaganée is artistic director of the ensemble together with one of the other founders from 1993.
